Christmas has always been all about tradition for the Bodishbaugh family. Changes were awkward and hard to get used to.
I remember the year we decided to buy a fake tree. It was a good decision to avoid the mess, the headache of attaching a stand that wouldn't fall, and the constant clogging of the vacuum cleaner to keep the needles off everything.
Nostalgically, we missed the trip to the Christmas Tree Farm, cutting down the tree, and the wonderful smell of fir throughout the house. But the change was worth the loss!
This year I got a new knee and all my energy is spent on rehab. Therefore, Conlee has done all the Christmas decorating, both inside and out, without one word of instruction or advice from me.
